MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - One man is behind bars after police said he tried to steal tires from the Moultrie business where he worked.

Charles Callahan, 51, was arrested Thanksgiving Day after someone told police they saw Callahan inside Boone's Tire Company, which was closed for the holiday.

When officers arrived, they saw Callahan unloading tires, valued at $500, from the trunk of his car.

Moultrie Police Investigator David Jones said, "He indicated that he was just going in there to get his cell phone, however the tires and rims that were loaded into the vehicle were tires that were from inside the shop."

Callahan is charged with burglary in the second degree.
