Southside Library will reopen soon

An Albany library, closed three years ago because of budget cut, is set to reopen early next year.

We got a sneek peak inside Southside Library on Oakridge Monday, with its beautiful stained glass window and natural materials.

$200,000 is being spent renovating the building. It didn't require much difficult work, though.

The County has been maintaining the building, and that has kept renovation costs low.

"The architecture in this building is so beautiful, its a sound building it is just a perfect building to house a library collection," said Pauline Abidde DoCo Library Director.

Employees are in the process of building the library's collection. Much of the renovation work is complete. Southside Library is expected to open in early 2016, although no official date has been set.
