GDOT wants better visibility on highways

TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

Georgia's Department of Transportation is working on a project to help improve safety on highways in Tift, Brooks, and Colquitt County.

Contractors will re-stripe the roadways in Tift County on State Route 125 and 35, and on some other state routes in Brooks and Colquitt County.

Crews will be placing reflectors on roads as well.

"You want your motorists to see where they need to go," said GDOT Engineer Van Mason. "You know, the width of the road, what turns are where, side roads.. things of that nature."

The project is expected to wrap up by the end of the week.
