ALBANY, GA (WALB) - It's that familiar sound you hear this time of year as it gets closer to Christmas. Groups volunteer every year to help raise funds and serve as bell ringers for the Salvation Army.
Volunteers with the Georgia Carry Organization were outside of Sam's Club. They volunteered last year and hope to beat their record of about $1,300 dollars.
"The G-C-O has been doing this all around the State in several different locations," said Lanier Harrison. "Now last year at this location, G-C-O raised more money than any other side in Albany and we want to challenge other groups and bell ringers to beat us."
