Troopers stay active on Georgia roads

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Georgia state troopers have not worked any fatalities on our highways and roads this holiday weekend as of Thursday afternoon.

One of the busiest travel days of the year is behind us, but troopers will still be out in force all weekend.

They will be looking for anything that puts other drivers in danger.

"People out looking for DUIs at night, looking for distracted drivers, looking for speeders, anything that can cause any kind of problems or present any kinds of dangers to the public, we're looking for to take them off the road," said Sgt. Dana Harnage with the Georgia State Patrol.

Last year, 15 fatalities were investigated by the Georgia State patrol over the Thanksgiving weekend
