Some retailers give Thanksgiving off

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Some retailers say it's important to spend time with family on the holidays

While lots of stores are opening Thursday and early for Black Friday, some retailers say it's important to let their employees enjoy the holidays with family.

Dillard's store manager David Pursley says the store is still family owned, and they want their associates to be able to spend time with their loved ones.

Many other stores inside the Albany Mall will be open tonight and on Black Friday. Hours do vary.

"They put a very large emphasis on family. They've said they are not going to open on Thanksgiving, we don't open till 8 on Monday so we are not one of those companies that our associates are going to have to get up at 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning," said Pursley.

Pursley says they will be open again at 8:00 a.m. on Black Friday.
