ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany high school football team is getting a lot of support as they prepare to play for a state championship.
Wednesday night, the Deerfield Windsor players gathered with their families for a pizza party at the State Theater downtown.
They also watched a video of highlights from the season.
"This group of seniors has worked so hard," said Piper Lowe, Player's Mom. "They won the state championship as freshman. They've lost it in the semis the last two years, and they had a goal to win the state as seniors, so it's a real big deal for this group of seniors as well as the entire team to bring home the state championship this year."
"Oh, we are just ready, and we're just ready to cheer on the Knights, we say 'go Knights," said Jana Gill, Player's Mom.
The Knights will take on Valwood in the title game Saturday in Macon.
