CAMILLA, GA (WALB) - Lots of people lined up to get a free turkey and fresh collard greens in Camilla Tuesday.
Pastor Lawrence Knighton says there was a long line at the Division of Family and Children Services when they drove up with the turkeys at 3 p.m.
They gave out 250 turkeys.
Knighton says the need grows every year, and this will help many families get their Thanksgiving dinner started.
"We have great members, not a great big congregation, but our people have a heart to give, and I think that's how God allows things to make happen," Knighton said.
They will be at St. James Missionary Baptist Church giving away another 250 turkeys until they run out Tuesday night.
