CORDELE, GA (WALB) -

A Cordele woman held a health awareness event Monday night to help her father find a kidney donor.
Deane Holsey screened the movie, "The Wish: A Story of Faith, Hope and Generosity," at South Georgia Tech's Cordele campus.
Her father, Lem Wright has chronic kidney disease.
They teamed up with the LifeLink Foundation to spread awareness about kidney disease and organ donation.

"This is really important to me,” said Deane Wright Holsey. “My dad actually needs a kidney. He's been on the kidney transplant list now for about two and a half years and we just want to spread the word. It would be excellent if we could find a kidney as a result of this event, but if not we want to save other lives."
