Four arrested in Coffee Co. drug raid

DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) -

After several complaints from citizens, The Douglas-Coffee County  Drug Unit decided to see what was going on Larry Burkes' house  in the Satilla River Hills Community.

Late Friday afternoon, DCDU detectives and K-9 officers searched the home of the state probationer. Officers discovered 23 baggies of methamphetamine, several ounces of marijuana, and a .380 caliber handgun in Burkes’ home.

Burkes was arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. 

Three other occupants in Burkes’ home were also arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. They are  Zachary Roberson, 26, of Douglas, another state probationer, Mitchell Paulk, 29, of Douglas, and Elizabeth Puccio, 40, of Coffee County.

Larry Gabriell Burkes, 27, of Douglas is currently serving a probated sentence for an unrelated criminal offense, and is now back in jail on the new drug charges.
