ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The tennis courts at the Grand Island club are getting some serious run this weekend.
They call it the annual Turkey Tournament, and it has graced Albany for over a decade.
There are 5 competitions going on. Men's and women's singles and doubles, as well as mixed doubles.
11th grader Danielle Keith frequents Grand Island to improve her tennis game. The pre-thanksgiving tournament holds sentimental value for her.
"Everybody that comes out here is really, really nice," said Keith who has played tennis for just over a year. "Everybody is competitive, but everybody is really nice, so it's really fun. And this is my second turkey tournament. My first one was actually my first time playing other than with my coach."
Danielle will look to make it her first Turkey Tournament championship Sunday when they play the final rounds.
