Two arrested in child cruelty case

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Police have made their first arrest in the case of cruelty to infant twins.

The Thomas County Sheriff's Office arrested 30-year old Jack East and his wife, 21-year old Alexandria.

They were charged with aggravated battery and cruelty to children.

Deputies asked the GBI to look into the case in May when the couple's baby son and daughter suffered several injuries.

GBI agents say the twins are in good health, but would not say who was taking care of them.
