One man is behind bars after Sylvester Police said they found $1,000 worth of counterfeit bills in his wallet.

Officers found ten $100 bills in Anderson's wallet, which were determined to be fake.

Lieutenant Kenneth Washington said counterfeit money is a growing problem this time of year.

"It's a big problem with our merchants and our stores," said Lt. Washington. "They're being passed at stores, they're being used, and they are really just hurting our economy here."
