ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Security is being upgraded at many at airports around the country after ISIS threatened to attack the United States.
The Transportation Director at Southwest Georgia Regional Airport hasn't received any notification from Homeland Security to increase security, but he is asking officers to be more vigilant in and around the terminals
"Obviously we want to keep everyone safe, it's imperative that anyone visiting or utilizing the airport see any suspicious behavior or suspicious packaging or anything," said David Hamilton, Transportation Director. "Notify our officers right away."
Yesterday, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed encouraged passengers to arrive early to Hartsfield-Jackson Airport because of tighter security checks.
