Witness help police respond faster to an armed robbery

TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

Tifton Police are asking for help identifying a man who robbed a convenience store.

Police say last night they had a quick response to the armed robbery, but they weren't able to catch the robber.
They hope that people can identify the suspect in the photo.

The man came in to Esco's Food and Gas around 6:00 and went up to the clerk and pointed his pocket at the clerk.
Police are not sure if he had a gun.

A customer saw what was happening and called 911.

"It gives us a little bit of a jump on getting our officers over there. Faster than waiting for the incident ends where the clerk calls," Detective Thomas King said.

If you have any information you are urged to call Tifton Police at (229)-382-3132.
