TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

Charles Spencer Elementary is the last school to go through a renovation project.

One section at a time, classrooms will get new lighting and the school will become more energy efficient.

School system officials say the $5 million project was a long time coming.

"It's been about 15 years since we've done anything to this building. So we're really excited to get started on here. We added a few classrooms back in the early 2000's so now we're looking at getting more of a face lift done and brightening up the whole campus," said Stacey Beckham, Communications Director.

The school expects to be finished by next Fall.
