VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Valdosta Police Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Langdale Drive, in reference to an assault Saturday night.
They were told that a woman in a black Chrysler 300 was trying to run over a man in the street, while children were running behind the car crying.
It turns out that the woman hit struck her husband with the car, and then drove him to the hospital.
Officers drove to the hospital, where John Bailey Jr., was being taken inside.
Tori Bailey, 32, claimed that an unknown person in a black SUV ran over her husband. Witnesses at the scene identified Tori as the driver of the car.
The couples' three children, ages 7, 10, and 12, witnessed the incident. Tori was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and three counts of Cruelty to Children, and taken to the Lowndes County Jail.
John Bailey, Jr. suffered eight broken ribs, a broken pelvis bone, two broken vertebrae and a punctured lung.
He was taken to the intensive care unit in serious condition, and is expected to survive his injuries.
