Women in South Georgia were honored for the grace they display in their careers and in their lives.

Albany State University and Southwest Georgia Women's Health Collaborative hosted the 2015 Inaugural Women of Grace Connection Conference Saturday at ASU's HPER gym.

Eleven women were honored , including WALB's Karla Heath-Sands.

Award winning Gospel Recording Artist Mary Mary sang for the event.

Mayor Dorothy Hubbard said she was honored to have won the Community Service award.

"I do it because I love this community," said Mayor Hubbard. "I do it because that's what God said I should do."

The event helps to build relationships between young and seasoned women in the community to promote mentorship among women.
