LEE CO., GA (WALB) - Thursday night Lee County business leaders attended the 27th annual chamber of commerce dinner. It was a Hawaii-themed celebration.
Chamber director Director Winston Oxford says the Forrester Parkway project will create a new East to West route across the county, helping traffic and opening opportunities for major new retailers.
"800 to 1,000 households in that part of this region would be potential retail customers," said Oxford. "Not only in Dougherty county but in Lee county when these drive times are shortened."
The extension will run from where Forrester parkway ends near Publix, westward all the way to highway 82.
