Millions of dollars were donated to local charities as part of Georgia Gives Day. The effort started in 2012 to encourage Georgians to support worthy causes in Georgia. Charities like the American Red Cross which uses donations to help families devastated by fires and other disasters.
“Everytime you see there's a fire on the news know that your donor dollar is going towards that family,” said Nature Malone, Disaster Program Specialist. “So, it's a wonderful thing to donate locally to American Red Cross.”
So far this year, Georgia Gives has raised more than $3.5 million. Click here to learn about how you can support hundreds of charities.
