Students studying Radiology at Albany Tech have some new equipment to work with.
They now have a patient table that can move up and down, plus a phantom body on the x-ray table that allows students to get plenty of practice before working with a real patient.
"Being able to get our hands on Ralph Walker in there, the phantom that we have inside," said Kiera Stokes, who is studying Radiology. "At the clinical sites, since it's our first year, we try not to touch the patients and interact with them as much. But getting in here and being able to use him and know exactly what we are doing has been really helpful."
Stokes says the hospitals use the same or similar equipment which helps prepare them for clinicals.
