ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The SOWEGA Council on Aging hosted an open house Tuesday to make sure the public knows about the programs they offer.
Seniors who attended learned about nearly 20 programs that can help them, including some special gadgets that are in their Tools 4 Life program. People also received help enrolling in medicare.
"The reason we picked right now is because this is open enrollment with Medicare/Medicaid and we have a great program that helps people to make good decisions about those things," said Executive Director Kay Hind.
The council is looking for volunteers for some of their programs like Meals on Wheels. If you are interested in volunteering for any of their programs you can go here go details.
