Police search for suspects in Thomasville arson

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Police are looking for the people who stole a woman's car and then set it on fire.

Officers say the stolen car was a 2002 Mercury Sable.

Police say they believe it was two men who stole the vehicle based on the seats leaning in the far back position.

Officers were able to track down the owner of the car by the license tag number... and the woman had no idea that her car was even missing.

"She was adamant that her car was in the parking lot. At that time of morning you're talking about 4 in the morning somewhere around that time, by the time we made it there she had no earthly idea that her vehicle wasn't where she left it."

The two suspects have not been identified and police say anyone with further information is encouraged to call the Thomasville Police Department.
