After much confusion with a sidewalk ordinance in Fitzgerald, local business leaders got together to explain the ordinance.
The Fitzgerald Ben Hill County Chamber of Commerce, along with the Colony Business Association, got together to explain the ordinance to businesses on Thursday.
The Ordinance does allow businesses to display things outside of their business once a quarter as long as does not threaten side walk safety. Also the business owner must pay for a permit.
"Basically what that says is that you are allowed to put merchandise for your business out on the sidewalk at a specific time," said Executive Director Nessa Williams.
The chamber has also offered up their store front to promote businesses.
