Police are on the lookout for a man who stole a TV from a furniture store.

The man threw a rock through the window at Railway Freight on North Lee in downtown Americus around 11:15 p.m. Monday.

He walked straight to the back of the store and took a 55-inch flat-screen TV.

Police are reviewing video and trying to get any other evidence from the store.

"These crimes affect all of us," said Interim Police Chief Herman Lamar. "It not only affects the business owners, but the citizens of Americus and the quality of life for the citizens of Americus."

Anyone who saw anything around the store Monday night is encouraged to call police.
