Law enforcement says that two people were shot near the 300 block of West 24th street in Cordele about 5:30 Tuesday afternoon. Now the man thought to be the shooter has turned himself in to authorities. Tazz Stewart is behind bars for the shooting.

Two men were in a fight at the Sunset Food Mart, at 503 West 24th Avenue. Officials think Stewart left and came back with a gun and started fighting again, and shot the other man, and one innocent bystander.

Cordele Police say that 20-year-old Osiris Jones, the intended target, was shot the leg. 20-year-old Jamal Grover, and innocent bystander, was shot in the foot.

Cordele police are working to prevent any retaliation following that shooting. Authorities hope to have someone arrested soon before either victim retaliates.

"Hopefully Mr. Jones take that route or any of family members and lets the police department do their job in finding a suspect, and take him into custody, and let the legal system deal with it, as opposed to any kind of vigilante justice out there," said Cordele Police Sgt. Jeremy Taylor.

Stewart is in jail, and the investigation continues
