Marietta retains Albany Commission seat

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Roger Marietta will keep his commission seat in Ward IV for Albany after winning the race Tuesday.

We had to wait until all the early and absentee votes were counted to declare incumbent Roger Marietta the winner over Chad Warbington.

He says he'll also keep working to lower the crime rate.

“The way the results were played out a little bit at a time, I was ahead, I was behind, I was very, very concerned about it, and at this moment I don't really feel any joy, just relief," says Winner Roger Marietta.

And after Tuesday's busy election, he’s back to work quickly, as he says he has a commission meeting at 8:30 Wednesday morning.

He won with 1,287 votes over Chad Warbington, who had 1,089 votes, with 100 percent of precincts reporting.
