LEESBURG, GA (WALB) - It's election day. The polls are open, and will close at 7 p.m. if you live in South Georgia.
But if you want to vote for the next U.S. President in Lee County, you won't be able to.
To be fair, you won't be able to cast a presidential ballot in any other county for that matter.
Election officials in Lee County said they have received several calls asking about voting in the presidential election, which does not take place until 2016.
Even so, they report that some callers have insisted that they will be casting a ballot for the next U.S. President one way or another.
We will try our best to see how that goes.
Meanwhile, many other local elections are taking place in cities and counties all across South Georgia.
WALB will have complete coverage of South Georgia elections, and will be closely following contested races as they come in.
