Saturday morning at Darton State in the GISA Cross Country championships, Virginia Moore of Deerfield Windsor finished first in the girls 3A championship with a time just over 19 minutes.
Her teammate Camryn Bridges followed her for second place. And thanks to both their efforts. Deerfield Windsor won the 3A title.
Moore was overjoyed to win it in her hometown.
"I'm really happy because my school is here and a lot of the teachers and students came to support, said the senior runner. "And also I think our team did a great job too. This is my last year, so I'm happy with my time and everything."
Moore says next up for her is shaving 5 seconds off her time for track season. For more results from the GISA boys and girls runs at Darton, check out Ga.milesplit.com
