VPD acts on a tip, makes drug arrest

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - About 9:00 Thursday night, VPD Narcotics Detectives checked out a narcotics activity complaint at Beauford Place.  They quickly saw evidence of drug use.

They got a search warrant and found 60 grams of high-grade marijuana, 15.5 grams of psilocybin (magic) mushrooms, amphetamine salt capsules, tools consistent with distribution of narcotics, and a stack of money.

They arrested Jack Haines, 19, for possession of marijuana with intent, possession of schedule I (psilocybin) with intent, possession of schedule II (amphetamine capsules) with intent, and possession of tools for the commission of the crime.

Adam Jordan, 19, was also arrested with possession of marijuana with intent.  A total of approximately $1,360 worth of illegal narcotics was seized.

"This is an on-going effort by the Valdosta Police Narcotics Unit to work hard to rid our community of illegal drugs", stated Chief Brian Childress.
