ALBANY, GA (WALB) - South Georgians enjoyed a night of Old School Hip Hop.
The city sponsored the Old School Hip Hop Jam at the Albany Civic Center.
It featured Kurtis Blow, Rob Base, Kool Mo Dee, the Sugar Hill Gang, and Furious 5.
Those who attended the concert were excited.
"Ever since I heard they had a concert, I've been Youtubing it down," said Jennifer Dublin, Concert Goer.
"Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5, we go back like stocking caps and waves," said Towana Humphries, Concert Goer.
"Growing up I heard my dad use to play the music of Kool Mo Dee and just listening to him, I was so excited when he came to the Civic Center," said Antenetta Florida, Concert Goer. "I wanted to come learn and see what it was all about."
City leaders say this is the first in a series of events they're planning to utilize the Civic Center more and attract more people downtown.
