ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Area YMCA had it's first 'Trunk or Treat' celebration Thursday.

Cars lined the field at the sports park on Gillionville road to hand out candy to kids in costumes.

The event included dancing and other indoor events. Organizers say they're pleased with the turnout and are already planning next year's celebration.

"We all got together and thought about what we could do utilizing this beautiful sports park. And we decided an entire week getting the families out to enjoy what the YMCA has to offer," said Organizer Sam McCormick.

Friday night the YMCA will be hosting a costume party in the gym.
