ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Two Albany men are formally charged with setting three homes on fire after burglarizing them.
The Dougherty County grand jury indicted Anquan Owens and Marcus Solomon on arson and burglary charges.
Investigators say they broke into three East Albany homes August 23rd and stole TV's and electronics, then set fires to try to cover up evidence.
Prosecutors say that made the crimes even more serious. "Absolutely. Every time you start fires in a residential area, you are endangering the community. And that makes these crimes eve more egregious as alleged," said D. A. Greg Edwards.
The DA says if the men are convicted they could face up to 40 years in prison for each of the houses they burned and looted.
