Police, students play dodgeball together

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Police played dodgeball with Jackson Heights Elementary School students Wednesday morning, as part of their red ribbon week activities.

The students and officers took turns throwing dodgeballs at each other in the school gym.

For the officers, it was a chance to get together and have fun with the kids while also teaching them important lessons on the dangers of drugs and bullying.

"It's very important for the kids to let them understand that there is a rapport that they can have with the police department," said Principal Brian Simon. "As well as the community can go out and do an outreach with them."

The students and the officers both say they had a lot of fun in their friendly dodgeball game.
