"Walmart's impact on all of northeast Tifton and surrounding outside communities will be monumental." said Tifton Mayor Jamie Cater. "I have worked to make Tift Avenue a corridor for commercial growth over the past eight years with eating, shopping and business's for those living and working in that area. Thanks to Walmart for the strategic planning and location on Tift Avenue as this will spur others to build and infrastructure to pursue as needed." said Cater.
The business is creating needed jobs for people in the area.
"Right now we have about 105 employees, we actually added jobs to Tift County," Store Manger Darren Dillard said.
