COLQUITT CO., GA (WALB) - A long tradition at Colquitt County High School is no more and parents want answers.
The school superintendent says the Grand March a prom tradition when students are presented on the football field will not continue because of logistical problems.
Last year the march took about two hours because of rain and the number of students attending the prom.
Critics plan to address the issue with the school board tonight.
"I was very disappointed because I really think it's something that they look forward to. Prom is just a huge ordeal deal especially in a smaller town," Beth Hayden said.
This year's prom will be the first at the new Colquitt County High School.
Superintendent Samuel DePaul says there are no plans to try to incorporate the march into prom activities there.
