ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Pastor of a church is making some security changes he never thought would be needed after a thief hit during a Sunday service.
When Pastor Terry Siniard of Sunny Side Baptist Church came into his office after church he thought someone was playing a joke on him by messing it up.
But after a few phone calls to his kids and one of the deacons, he soon found out it wasn't.
"I called the chairman of the deacons and he said, 'no that doesn't sound right- you better go ahead and call the police,'" Siniard recalled.
He said someone stole some money he usually keeps in his desk. Police told him that the burglary most likely happened while church services were going on.
Albany Police are investigating.
"Nothing like that ever happened like that before, so it kind of makes you feel like you need to take a bath," he said
Pastor Siniard says he feels violated. Now they will now keep the door leading to his office locked on Sundays.
"We will lock a few doors on Sunday morning that we use to didn't lock."
Even though police haven't caught any suspects, Pastor Siniard has this message for them.
"We still love them," he said.
