Ag facility in Adel to create 16 jobs

ADEL, GA (WALB) -

Leaders will break ground at a new facility for Custom Ag Formulators, Inc as they expand with a new investment in Cook County.

The facility will be built on a 3,000 acre megasite.

"We are delighted that Custom Ag Formulators has chosen to locate in Adel, Georgia," stated Lisa Collins, director of economic development for the Cook County Economic Development Commission (EDC). "The company's commitment to create jobs and capital investment will have a strong and positive impact in our community and our region."

Crews are expected to begin construction in the next 30 days and expects to be open for business by the first quarter of 2016.

A groundbreaking ceremony will be held at the Cook County Megasite (U.S. Highway 41, 3.5 miles south of the Adel Post Office), on Tuesday, October 27 at 10 a.m.

Custom Ag Formulators is an international provider of agricultural products, including pesticide improvement, frost protectants, and insect attractants.

The company is based in Fresno, California.

    Albany Utilities has occupied the 207 Pine Ave. building since the late 70s, but utility leaders say it’s time to move on. Stephen Collier, Assistant City Manager of Utilities, told WALB News 10 that the current building is no longer in shape to do business.
