ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The O.B. Hines public housing neighborhood was awarded the Mayor's Award of Excellence.

The Public Housing Authority had judges from the community go around to neighborhoods and they picked the Hines neighborhood.

They were celebrated with food music and activities for the kids.

"There's no trash to speak of and there is just a good atmosphere.

It's a place when you drive through and you say wow I like to live here," said Dan McCarthy. "And O.B. Hines property is one of our first developments built back in 1942 so we're very proud that it's been selected."

The housing project was recognized for it's neat appearance.
