ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Several deadlines are approaching to have your input heard on the controversial natural gas pipeline proposed to run through South Georgia.
Comments to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission are due Monday, October 26th.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers extended their comment period for permits under the Clean Water Act until December 11th.
City Commissioner Roger Marietta collected petitions from concerned citizens Thursday.
"What we're asking on these Federal Energy Regulatory Commission comments is to move it outside the city and the county, but we're also asking with the Georgia EPD to not permit this because there's several ramifications first the deadly effects on the people," said Roger Marietta, City Commissioner.
A public hearing to talk about air quality comments with the Georgia Environmental Protection Division will be held November 5th at Albany Tech in the Kirkland Building at 5:00 p.m.
