THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Brookwood is hosting Valwood Friday night in a game that will have major implications on how the top of their region shapes out. That makes this GISA showdown your game of the week.

Both teams will enter Friday night's contest with only one loss on the season. Unfortunate for Brookwood, their loss came within the 3A region against Deerfield Windsor.

Last season the two teams faced off at Valwood, and at home, the Valiants did away with Brookwood 62-14.

Brookwood Head coach Shane Boggs believes he has an improved team. They know the heavy implications of the game, and Boggs said his kids are amped for Friday night's chance at revenge.

"We had 3 consecutive turnovers and they're scoring every time and the next thing you know you're down 28 points," said Boggs of last year's competition. "The biggest thing we got to do is, we think it's going to be a game where  each team is going to deliver their own punch, and we've just got to respond to adversity a little bit better than we did last year."

The game will kickoff at 7:30 Friday night at Brookwood. A Warriors win would push them closer to hosting a playoff game this year.
