Americus man robbed in his yard

AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - Just before 6:00 Wednesday morning, as he was leaving for work, Billy Johnson was approached by two men, one armed, in his Hancock Drive yard. They ran out from behind his house, and demanded that he get out of his car.

They looked through it for property, but didn't find anything.

They took his cellphone and his wallet, which had $40 inside. They took the cash, wiped off the wallet, and threw it down. They took off running, and dropped the cellphone as they did.

Johnson told police that they ran about a block down the street, and split up, going into different directions.

He described the first crook, who held him at gunpoint, as a black man, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a dark hoodie. The other was approximately 5' 7"   wearing dark sweat pants, with writing on the left pants leg possibly "1875."
