ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Police said they were able to recover items from the burglary of the City Attorney's home and arrest the man they believe who did it.
Dewayne Goodman was arrested and charged with burglary in the first degree, theft by receiving stolen property, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
According to a report, officers spotted Goodman on Whippoorwill Road Tuesday.
He had two guns in his possession at the time.
Officers questioned him, and then got a warrant to search a home on South Audubon Drive, where they found more items taken from Albany City Attorney Nathan Davis' home.
"It's items I really never expected to see again. Just stupendous. I can't describe how hard APD has worked on it. And is continuing to work on it," said Davis.
Investigators said neighbor Joy Baker reported that she was walking her dog in the neighborhood when she noticed the Davis' rear door had been forced open.
Investigators said at least 30 guns and other items were taken.
Goodman was booked into the Dougherty County Jail.
