Editorial: City of Albany aids with SC flood relief efforts

Viewpoint Viewpoint

As thousands of South Carolinians work to pick up the pieces after torrential flooding... We here in Southwest Georgia can't help but be reminded of the similar tragedy we suffered in 1994, flooded homes, floating cars, homes and businesses destroyed... lives lost.

When we were hit with the unthinkable 21 years ago... we received aid from people from all over the country... Especially from our fellow southerners, and now is the time for us to pay it forward.

The city of Albany has partnered with Interstate National Lease to collect items needed to help aid flood relief efforts in South Carolina.

Please consider donating water, bleach, cleaning wipes, diapers and non-perishable baby items.

You can now bring your items to the old Coca-Cola bottling Company building in downtown Albany.

Donations can be dropped off between 8am and 6pm until this Thursday, October 22nd.

Let's show our friends in South Carolina that the Albany community stands with them as they work to recover.
