The interim president of the Albany Chamber of Commerce believes that organization should keep managing the Convention and Visitors Bureau.
A recent study of tourism in Albany recommended the Chamber, CVB, and the Albany Economic Development Commission should be separate entities.
The city pays the chamber to run the CVB, and Interim chamber president Barbara Rivera Holmes says the current arrangement is working.
"I see absolutely no reason to work in silos at all. Really the report said don't work in silos. Work closer. Have unified goals. Have shared vision. Align yourselves and we have done that," said Holmes.
The Randall Report did say the three entities should work together for common goals.
Rivera Holmes is also the vice-president for the EDC.
