Two men assaulted with a baseball bat in Valdosta

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Three men Valdosta police say beat two people with a bat remained on the loose Tuesday.

Police say Jermaine Rowe got into an argument with someone at the Greenbriar apartment complex around 4:45 p.m. Monday.

Rowe claims the other person stole money from him. He went to his home, grabbed a bat, and came back to confront the man. When Rowe go there, three people grabbed the bat from him and started beating him.

Police say the suspects also beat Rowe's step-father when he came to help Rowe.

"The victim was not as forthcoming as we had hoped. So, in this investigation we're going to try to determine what brought him to the apartment complex and started this entire incident," said Valdosta Police Department Lt. Kari Williams.

Neither Rowe nor his step-father was seriously hurt.
