Motorcycle rider arrested after high-speed chase

LOWNDES CO., GA (WALB) - Deputies said one person is in jail after a high-speed chase involving a motorcycle.

Officials said they had to set up a roadblock in order to stop the motorcycle rider after he refused to stop for speeding.

Speeds reached about 100 miles per hour during the chase as it started in Lowndes County on Interstate 75 and continued to GA Hwy. 122.

According to a report, 45-year-old Marvin Lee Kittrell of Fort Lauderdale, Florida was arrested and charged with speeding, reckless driving, attempting to elude, and possession of marijuana, among other charges.

Kittrell was taken to the Lowndes County Jail.

A bond was expected to be considered Monday.
