ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany State volleyball team is inviting the community to show up and think pink for Tuesday's match against Fort Valley State University.
Head coach Robert Skinner is encouraging fans to wear pink for the rivalry match.
In an effort to raise awareness for Breast cancer the Lady Golden Rams will have speakers between sets as well as present fans with giveaways.
ASU is looking to improve on a 4-game winning streak. They currently stand at 9-3 in the SIAC, and coach Skinner credits his teams recent success to the practices and continuity.
"We've become a little bit more familiar with one another towards the middle of the season," said Skinner. "We just cut back on some of our errors and some of our mistakes. Most of it has really been our ability to execute."
ASU beat Fort Valley state in straight sets earlier this season. Skinner knows how important the rivalry win would be.
"It's important to beat them 3-0 again," said Skinner. "We play them at home. We played at fort valley the first time and we were very fortunate to jump on them early. we had two close games with them. they are going to be a strong competitor as always."
The game starts at 6 PM in HPER Gym, and don't forget to wear pink for breast cancer awareness.
