VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

The Lowndes County Sheriff's Office released the following information regarding a drug bust in Valdosta Thursday:

On Thursday, October 15 investigators with the Special Operations Division of the Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 2308 Bemiss Road after an investigation into the possession and sale of drugs.

During this search warrant investigators recovered a quantity of cocaine and marijuana and items used for the packaging and sales of these substances.

Investigators were assisted by officers from the Valdosta office of the Georgia Department of Community Supervision, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Gang Task Force and the Georgia Department of Corrections.

The residence at 2308 Bemiss Road is located beside a daycare facility and within 1000 feet of a park. Robert Williams, Jr. was arrested and taken to the Lowndes County Jail. He will appear this afternoon in the Lowndes County Magistrate Court for an arraignment hearing where a bond will be considered.

Sheriff Prine said “this arrest is especially gratifying given the sales of these drugs was right next door to a daycare and across the street from a park.” “Good work by everyone to stop this person.”

The Sheriff is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact investigators at {229} 671-2950; or anonymous tips can be provided at {229} 671-2985 or on line at www.lowndessheriff.com.
