Lee County family in need of wheelchair lifts for special need children

A Lee County family with special needs children hopes you can help make their van more wheelchair accessible.

15-year-old Abigail Salter suffers from Mitochondrial myopathy, a progressive condition that weakens her organ systems.
Her family needs a wheelchair lift and lock system for their van to take Abigail and her 23-year-old sister, Savannah, who is also special needs to doctor's appointments.

"Whether it's locally, whether it's in Atlanta, whether it's therapy locally, whether it's just taking her back and forth to school or taking her to an activity and letting her go out to the mall,” said Deborah Salter, Mother. “She doesn't even get to go to the mall and walk around the mall like regular teenagers."

They hope to raise more than $7500 for the lift in time to use it to take Abigail to a Taylor Swift concert for her birthday later this month. Donations can be made at any Colony Bank under the “Van Account.” You can click here to make a donation.
